The mission of the friends of the brentwood art center is to operate an art center to provide high quality education and instruction in the fine arts to both children and adults of all levels, to conduct outreach programs in arts education, and to otherwise promote and foster arts education in the community. community outreach programs include a veterans program that typically provides weekly art classes to veterans on the campus of the westwood va and in the spinal cord injury department of the long beach va. the brentwood art center works with other nonprofits such as 18th street arts center and the ymca to provide free community arts education programs at the art center and out in the community. to ensure equitable access to the arts, the brentwood art center awarded more than $34,000 in financial aid to students in need during the 2021 tax year.
